Introduction
If you’re eligible, support your dependent financially and don’t need social assistance from the Government then you can sponsor your spouse, partner or dependent children to become permanent residents of Canada.
Here is the list of documents (not-exclusive) required for Visitors Visa:
- Status in Canada: Submit your PR card copy (both sides) and in case of Canadian Citizenship submit your Canadian Citizenship certificate or Card (both sides)
- Relationship with the sponsor
- Marriage Certificate
- Civil Status Documents
- Additional Information about Child
- Police Clearances Certificates
- Digital Photos (according to the requirement)
- Medical Examination Report
- Proof of Relationship to Sponsor
- Most recent copy of T4 or T1
- Original Letter of Current employer stating the period of employment, salary & working regular hours per week & one of these documents issued by Canadian Revenue Agency
- Schedule A which gives Background Declarations
- Spouse/partner questionnaire
- Supporting Documents for Sponsored Persons (Principal Applicant & All Family Members)
- Identity Documents, Travel Documents & Passports
- Most recently issued passport or travel document for you and all family members (accompanying you to Canada)
- Include only copies of pages showing the passport or travel document number, date of issue and expiration, photo, name, surname, date & place of birth of holder
- If you are in Canada or previously travelled to Canada, you must include pages of that passport in your possession which bear an entry stamp made by a Canadian Authority
- If residing in a country different from your nationality, include a copy of your visa or residency permit for the country in which you currently reside
- Please note that diplomatic, official or public affairs passports are not acceptable for an applicant for permanent residence in Canada
- Birth Certificate of yours (& all your dependents, if applicable- whether they are accompanying you in Canada or not)
Note: IF you do not have status in Canada, Please provide an explanation on a paper as well a copy of any paperwork you have that is relevant to your status.
